SUMMARY:AWISE 2020 - Microlearning and the Modern Workplace
DESCRIPTION:Session No.2 – Microlearning and the Modern Workplace \nWe live in a world of constant change and now with the major disruptions of 2020 we’re entering a period more than ever that people need to upskill or re-skill. This week\, with our guest presenters we’re going to explore concept of Microlearning and how that can be applied to the workplace and education in general. \nThanks to our sponsors this will be a FREE event. \nSession Presenter(s) \n \nDavid Broadhurst – CEO of Codesafe Solutions \nDavid is the C0-Founder and CEO of Codesafe Solutions which delivers solutions in the area of workforce engagement and knowledge transfer through mobile visual Microlearning approaches. David is also a Co-Founder of the charity Braveheart Freedom Fighters which is seeking to provide a more cohesive and upstream approach to the stop depression and suicidal thoughts across our workplaces\, learning institutions and communities. \nHaving been involved in the building and construction industry for many years David was all too familiar with its challenges in communication and knowledge/process transfer. Through Codesafe & Braveheart David is seeking to change the quality of the work education\, outcomes\, and mental health. \n  \n Prashil Singh – Partnership and Stakeholder Relations at VETASSESS \nPrashil has worked in public\, private and government workplaces and holds post-graduate qualifications in Education\, Leadership and Business (Enterprise Development). \nWith extensive business-to-business/government contract management experience in the Middle East\, South East Asia\, North America and Europe\, Prashil has negotiated several TVET projects and has represented VETASSESS with the Australian Government at WorldSkills International\, TAFE Director’s Australia\, Asia Pacific Economic Corporation and the Groningen Declaration Network. \nAbout Microlearning \nMicrolearning is a holistic approach for skill based learning and education which deals with relatively small learning units. It involves short-term-focused strategies especially designed for skill based understanding/learning/education. \nMicrolearning can be used for formal as well as informal training needs. They can be used as Performance Support Tools (PSTs)\, as standalone learning nuggets or as part of a series of courses. They can also be deployed through LMS or weaved in a learning path of a learning portal. \nNow more than ever\, the job market has an urgency for Micro-Credentials – these mini qualifications and learning experiences are becoming the forefront of professional skill sets\, with 95% of human resource managers actively seeking micro-credentials from potential candidates. \nEspecially as a result of this technological age\, employers must ensure that their team is fully equipped with a combination of both hard and soft skills. Micro-credentialing solidifies this need\, for both employers and employees. \nAbout AWISE \nAWISE (Albury-Wodonga Innovation Summit & EXPO) is an annual event hosted from Wodonga in North East Victoria to explore\, celebrate\, and learn about advancements in Innovation locally\, nationally\, and globally. \nIn previous years we have run a full day event bringing together industry\, business\, and education institutions; however\, due to the present lock downs and social distancing\, we are planning to run the program over a series of webinars and workshops throughout the months of October and December. For more info on the program please visit here: https://awise.world \nSession Details: \n[zoom_api_link meeting_id=”99942154746″ link_only=”no”]
